At the campus library for natural sciences, cultural sciences, educational sciences, mathematics, computer science and psychology, there are about 1 million books and other literature on 10,000 square meters. Here, you can find almost 1000 quiet workplaces.

The "Mensa FU II" is located adjacent to the Rostlaube and and offers a big selection of food at very low prices. When the weather is nice you can sit outside. When you enter the building there are machines where you can top up your mensa card. Also there are a small stationery, a book sale outside, table football down the stairs and now and then small informational events organized by students in the area in front of the mensa.

The computer science building is located in the Takustraße 9. In the upper levels there are a big lecture hall, rooms for exercises and offices, in the cellar you can find a small cafeteria, the 'spline' group which will help you with any problems around linux and you have access to the computer lab, a small kitchen, a common rooms and the bamboo winter gardens.

Only few courses, sometimes exams take place in the mathematics building opposite the pi-building.

The physics building is important for bioinformatics students because our study and exam administration (Prüfungsbüro) is located here. Since everything looks the same inside here is a small set of directions to reach it: You enter house 1 (first on the same side when coming from the pi-building), go up to the next floor using the stairs on the right hidden behind a door, when you leave the stairs turn left and the first corridor left again. The pi building gets its name from the first 314 letters of pi that are painted on its wall all around the building. Of course it started as a mathematics building but bioinformatics has infiltrated to a degree that half of our lectures and exercises are held here and the official bioinformatics computer lab is in room 017. Though you better use the computers on the other side of the building since this room is mostly locked when no classes take place there.

The Rostlaube and Silberlaube (named after their colors 'rust' and 'silver') are the biggest building complex around but you will probably only ever enter the library and canteen. Also language courses are held here and the round part in the south-west is the beautiful brain-shaped philology library.

The Student Services Center in Iltisstraße 4 is a good spot if you have any questions about studying in general. Official mail concerning application and immatriculation goes to the Iltisstraße 1.
